Margaret has been part of the Women’s Fund community since 1999 during which time she served as Chair of the Board of Directors, and as an active member of the Social Change Grants Advisory and Board Development Committees. Over the years, Margaret had served on more than two dozen boards throughout the Milwaukee community. Most recently Margaret served as Executive Vice President of Legacy Bancorp, Inc./Legacy Bank, which she co-founded in 1997. Margaret became executive director in August 2011 and is the second executive director since the Women’s Fund became an independent entity in 2006.
Kalyani Manohar Grasso, Program Manager
Kalyani has over nine years experience in the field of philanthropy. In 2009, she joined the Women’s Fund Marketing Committee. As program manager, she now oversees the Social Change Grantmaking and Cultures of Giving grant programs. On the development side, she writes grant proposals and reports, assists with fundraising campaigns, and supports the work of the Women of Color Fundraisers Network.
Prior to joining the Women’s Fund, Kalyani worked in communications and membership at the DC-based Council on Foundations’ International Philanthropy department. She got her start in philanthropy at the Association of Small Foundations in Washington, DC. Originally from Mumbai, India, Kalyani came to the United States for her undergraduate studies at the College of Wooster, OH. Kalyani has a Master of Arts degree in Telecommunications and Information Sciences from Michigan State University.
