We are grateful to philanthropist Joseph Pabst for his pledge to match gifts up to a total of $10,000 for all donations to the Lesbian Fund received through the 2011 Challenge Party. Donations to the Lesbian Fund will be used for grantmaking in the areas of leadership development, reproductive justice, young women and adolescent girls, and intimate partner violence.
The first Challenge Party was launched in 1988 with the intent of challenging members of the metro Milwaukee LGBT community and to support the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin. It was also a way to recognize, honor, and support newly emerging LGBT organizations. Since that first Challenge Party, participants have raised more than half a million dollars to support the innovative and critical services and programs needed by the LGBT community.
