We welcome our 2012 grant partners, most of whom are not new to us at all. We will be awarding about $200,000 to 21 organizations that are working to give women and girls a voice in our community. Their passionate and tireless work has resulted in the women-led solutions that are bringing real, long-lasting social change to Milwaukee. In addition, earlier this year, we awarded $27,000 to ten women through our Her Scholarship program.
It is hard to imagine that we’ve been doing this for almost 25 years! Our first grants totaling $10,000 were made in 1989. Today our grantmaking totals $2.5 million. A huge thank you to our donors who make it possible for these organizations to continue their work.
